01

Context

Shuriken UI is CSS Ninja’s open-source Nuxt component library. It powers Tairo and Vuero, the studio’s commercial templates.

02

Problem

Make the library’s components consistent and themeable: class definitions had grown component by component, and the theme configuration was not applied uniformly.

03

What I did

Senior front-end developer at CSS Ninja / Digisquad (March 2022 – June 2023), working on the open-source library and the studio’s private repositories.

04

Key technical decisions

  1. Rebuild the class definitions

Rewrote the class definitions of all base and form components on a common structure.

  2. Align components with the theme

Aligned around thirty components with the theme configuration, so a theme change applies everywhere.

05

Result

3rd contributor out of 8 on the public repository: 44 contributions and 87 merged pull requests (contributors graph).
